Welcome to MIdway Chevrolet's Spark Review

It appears as though Chevy's move to create a "mini" paid off. Following last year's introduction of the all-new Chevy Spark, the automaker saw a rise in new customers thanks to this perky little four-door hatch; in fact, more than half of Spark buyers were new to the GM family. But its real success will go beyond its first year on the market. The number of city-dwellers and young urbanites looking for increasingly smaller, more fuel-efficient cars is on the rise, and the introduction of the Spark represents a long-term strategy aimed at capturing a segment of the population whose needs don't necessarily align themselves with those of generations past. The icing on the cake for many of these buyers was and will remain cost: the Spark is the roomiest yet lowest priced car in its segment.

In 2014, the Spark is back with a new available variable transmission that delivers greater highway mpg ratings, additional standard and optional features, and an all-new Spark EV (electric vehicle) model. New exterior color options include Lime and Grape Ice, and Chevy Spark buyers in Phoenix may also add several new dealer-installed accessory kits for greater personalization. Shoppers have three trim levels to choose from - LS, 1LT and 2LT - and a manual transmission is standard, while an automatic is optional.

Chevy claims that 90 percent of their Spark customers own smart phones, which is one reason why their MyLink infotainment system comes as standard equipment on all trim levels. With the ability to sync up to smart phones and deliver a personalized information and entertainment experience, MyLink is just one of several cutting-edge technology systems on the Spark. Other features and amenities include: climate control, power accessories, cruise control, keyless entry, steering-wheel-mounted controls and much more.

Many Chevy Spark reviews praised last year's model for its capable combination of low cost, high fuel economy and abundant features. From the looks of it, the 2014 Spark is taking a good thing and making it better by providing quicker acceleration through the new CVT transmission, new features and models.
