What's New for the 2018 Chevrolet Bolt?

The 2018 Chevy Bolt brought on some amazing new features that make the car appear adherently newer than last years model. One of the biggest changes brought to light was the automatic heated steering wheel. The feature comes with the Premier trim model and is available on the LT trim model upon purchasing the Convenience Package. Another new feature was the sliding sun visor. The feature is standard on both the driver and passenger side of the vehicle.

2018 Bolt Trims & Features

There are two trim types available for the 2018 Chevy Bolt. The first is the LT trim package which is the cheaper of the two. The next option is the Premier trim which is a little more expensive but comes with a few extra features. The Bolt features a 238 mile driving range. The model runs using a by-wire system that operates the drive shaft. The system allows for much less packaging that traditional methods and therefore creates room for much more space on the interior. The battery features a fast charging method which can allow for up to 90 miles of range after only 30 minutes of charge time. There is a touch screen display which allows users to easily control many features. The Bolt features an amazing Bose sound system. Additionally, the car packs a wireless device charging station. The spacious interior provides for 17 cubic feet of cargo space.

2018 Chevrolet Bolt FrontThe engine on the Bolt is powered by a 60 kWh battery capable of up to 266 lb./ft. of torque. The powerful vehicle can reach speeds of 60 MPH in only 6.5 seconds. The engine has around 200 horsepower and the car itself has a curb weight of 3569 lb. It has a great acceleration and provides some kick.

How Chevy Features Keep You Safe

2018 Chevrolet Bolt RearThe 2018 Chevy Bolt has been safety tested and has proved to be quite reliable. There are 10 airbags packed in the vehicle. Also equipped is a rear view camera which allows drivers to spot out things they normally couldn't see. Stocked on the Premier trim model is the Surround Vision system. The feature allows drivers to see a proposed 360 degree view of their vehicle and all of its close surroundings. Also available on the Premier trim is the rear camera mirror. Standard on the Premier model but available as an add-on for the LT trim is the Driver Confidence Package. The package features many amazing features such as lane change alert as well as rear parking assist. Another package which is only available on the Premier trim model is the Driver Confidence II Package. It provides safety features such as a following distance indicator as well as an automatic braking system.
