When Does Chevrolet Plan To Be All Electric?

Like several other automakers, Chevrolet has an ambitious plan to slowly get away from gasoline and diesel power for its vehicles. The American automaker intends to shed its gasoline-powered fleet over the years and replace its vehicles with electric cars instead. Chevrolet currently intends to have a fully electric-powered fleet of cars by 2035.

Strong Stats

Even though its vehicles will be electric by 2035, Chevrolet plans to give its upcoming electric fleet plenty of range, speed, and power. On average, its vehicles will have a range of 300 miles on a single electric charge. They will also have exceptional acceleration capabilities with the capacity to accelerate from a standstill to 60 MPH in about 3 to 8.5 seconds. They will also have new battery technology under their hoods and be powered by batteries that range from 50 to 200 kWh. Chevrolet's electric cars will have plenty of power as well, with power outputs from their engines ranging from 235 HP to more than 1,000 HP. Additionally, you'll have several drivetrains available for your electric Chevrolet. The electric-powered fleet will be available in vehicles with rear-wheel drive, front-wheel drive, regular all-wheel drive, and a special type of performance-oriented all-wheel drive.

Electric Charging Capabilities

Along with simply building electric vehicles, Chevrolet also plans to incorporate electric charging solutions into its comprehensive plan to have a fully electric fleet by 2035. Therefore, Chevrolet plans to have electric charging stations available for its vehicles to charge at across the country. Chevrolet supports a larger grid network of electric power to make charging electric vehicles more accessible for consumers wherever they go.

Ultium Batteries

As part of its plan to adopt a more modern battery technology for its vehicles, Chevrolet intends to start using a new battery called Ultium, which will be combined with an all-electric Ultifi platform based on software. The Ultium batteries used by Chevrolet are intended to be long-lasting and powerful. They will also have zero emissions. The batteries will be contained in a special battery pack that enhances the capability of the electric vehicles that it powers. The battery and platform also allow for personalization, upgrades, and app connectivity.

Electric Fleet

Chevrolet's electric lineup will include a variety of vehicles. The Chevrolet Silverado is one of the brand's most notable electric pickup trucks. Other highly anticipated vehicles are the Equinox and the Blazer. Both are midsize SUVs expected to be produced in electric versions in the 2023 model year.
