Chevy has long been known for building some of the toughest pickup trucks on the market. The recent Silverado EV ZR2 concept entered the renowned Mint 400 off-road competition. This electric-powered race vehicle mastered the tough 73-mile route, proving itself on the most challenging landscapes. Chevrolet also campaigned the gas-powered Silverado ZR2 and Colorado ZR2 in the same event.
Power That Stuns
The Silverado EV ZR2's three-motor electric setup delivers an astounding 1,100 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft of torque. It offers exhilarating acceleration and robust pulling capability. At the end of the Mint 400, the EV ZR2 still had 40 percent charge left, showcasing its endurance.
Rugged Off-Road Features
Chevrolet added several specialized off-road parts to the Silverado EV ZR2 concept. Its Multimatic Adaptive Spool Valve dampers grant more than 13 inches of travel at both axles. Locking differentials improve grip in loose terrain, and underbody skid plates shield vital components. It rolls on 37-inch BF Goodrich KM3 Mud Terrain tires and sits higher thanks to a suspension lift.
2026 Silverado EV Trail Boss on the Horizon
Later this summer, Chevrolet will launch the Silverado EV Trail Boss. It is equipped with a factory lift, bright red tow hooks, 35-inch all-terrain tires, and a dedicated Terrain Mode, which lets eco-conscious explorers pursue off-road adventures.
