What's New for the 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe?

The new 2018 Chevy Tahoe brings back all the features you love with a new available RST upgrade option. All Tahoes sport new LED daytime driving lamps to help other drivers identify you on the roadway. The newly available RST edition is jam-packed with a powerful 6.2L engine with 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft torque. This edition sports the brand new 10-speed automatic transmission that makes switching gears seamless. All models come with the convenience of an eight-inch color touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, fold-flat second and third-row seating, and front active aero shutters to improve aerodynamics when driving on the highway. There are many available packages which can be ordered. Some of these include Rear Seat Entertainment System, Keyless Entry, Max Trailering, All-Season, and Signature.

The 2018 Chevy Tahoe is available in three different trims, which are the LS, LT, and Premier. The LS is your standard model Tahoe which includes features like heated folding mirrors, luggage side rails, 8" color touchscreen, 6-speaker sound system, tri-zone automatic climate control and manual 60/40 split-bench seats. The LT model includes all the LS features plus the memory package, rearview auto-dimming mirror, Bose 9-speaker sound system and a power liftgate. The Premier model includes everything the LT model has plus keyless open and start, front and rear park assist, Magnetic Ride Control, HID headlights, Bose 10-speaker surround sound system and wireless charging.

Both the LT and Premier trims can be upgraded to the RST edition. The RST, which stands for Rally Sport Truck Edition, provides gloss black sport grille and aluminum 22-inch wheels with silver and body-color accents surrounding the door handles, grille, mirrors, and roof rails. In addition, it provides increased performance with a 6.2L V8 engine with 10-speed transmission.

This gives you massive 355 horsepower that when combined with the Max Trailering Package can allow you to tow up to 8,600 lbs. The Premier and RST Editions have the option to sport a 6.2L V8 engine that outputs 420 horsepower. This specialized engine collaborates with a 10-speed automatic transmission and Magnetic Ride Control to ensure you get the smoothest ride possible.

Most of these features come standard with the LS model, but there are some additional features you can opt to purchase with the Premier model. The standard features are electrical theft-deterrent system, LATCH system, Rear Park Assist, Rear Vision Camera, Passenger Sensing System, StabiliTrak Stability control system, Forward Collision Alert, tire pressure monitoring, and OnStar Automatic Crash Response. When you opt for the LS and Premier models, there are more safety features you can take advantage of. These include Adaptive Cruise Control, Front Automatic Braking, Side Blind Zone Alert, Lane Change Alert, and Rear-Cross Traffic Alert. These features help to keep you and your passengers safe while assisting in making your confidence behind the wheel soar. Forward Collision Alert is the first step in a series of front safety features in the 2018 Chevy Tahoe. This feature uses a camera to identify slowing vehicles in your path and alerts you with audio and visual cues. Low-Speed Forward Automatic Braking is a feature which senses that a front-end collision is imminent and automatically applies the brakes to lessen the impact. This feature is activated when you're driving below 50 mph. When it comes to the rear of your vehicle, there are many features that can help assist you in driving safely. First, when you put the car in reverse, you'll notice the rear vision camera automatically displays on the Chevy MyLink touchscreen. When cars pass behind your vehicle or objects are in your path when it's in reverse, you will feel vibrations in the seat alerting you to their presence to avoid an unwanted collision.
