The popular Chevy Traverse crossover is getting a big makeover for its latest model year.
The 2018 Traverse, which should be heading to Phoenix sometime this year, will feature a full redesign that will come with new exterior styling, a larger cabin, more interior convenience technology, and a new 3.6L V6 engine and a 9-speed automatic transmission.
“The all-new Traverse offers the ultimate in style and convenience for the segment, with the versatility customers need and a thoughtful, spacious design they’ll love,” said Alan Batey, president of GM North America and brand chief, Global Chevrolet. “It’s the midsize SUV designed to help keep you safe, comfortable and connected.”
Among the newly available amenities on the 2018 Traverse are:
- 8-inch- diagonal MyLink infotainment system
- OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi
- Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
Drivers will also find wireless charging and Chevy’s new Rear Seat Reminder system on the 2018 Traverse, as well as three rows of USB charging ports, the automaker’s popular Teen Driver system and steering-wheel-mounted phone controls.
According to the automaker, there will also be a slew of highly advanced safety features available on the crossover, including:
- D-Optic LED headlamps (standard on High Country and Premier)
- Surround Vision
- Low and High-Speed Forward Automatic Braking
- Front Pedestrian Braking
- Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
- Forward Collision Alert
