What's New for the 2018 Chevy Express?

The 2018 lineup of Chevy Express continues carrying over Chevy's tradition of producing high passenger and work vans. The significant change from Chevy heading into the 2018 model year is the range of engine options that are available in the Chevy Express. In 2018, Chevy has dropped the 4.8-liter Vortec V8 engine that was the base engine in the lineup for years.

The 2018 lineup of Chevy Express vans come in three different packages that will suit either the working person or the owner looking for tons of excellent passenger room. Beginning with the Express passenger van package, Chevy gives owners plenty of options to suit the new owner's needs. The passenger package is by either a 12 or 15 passenger layout, with the latter sporting four additional rows of seating behind the front. This passenger van boasts simplified exit and entry with rear swing-out doors and sizeable rear passenger doors. The driver sees the benefits of the available Chevy MyLink 7-inch touch-screen with navigation and Bluetooth connectivity to connect to their smartphone apps and make calls all hands free. Available 4G WiFi keeps all happy passengers while on the road.

The Express cargo van package was built with the working person in mind with a maximum payload of just over 4,300 pounds and available maximum towing of 10,000 pounds. The cargo area of this packages offers excellent customizability with many available equipment packages to store any sized gear in the back. Rear swing-out doors and sliding cargo door make access to the working area a breeze. The Express cargo comes available with a crew option that seats up to five passengers as well. The cargo package comes with the same great connectivity features as the passenger van as well to help better connect the business person in the high-tech world.

Finally, the Express cutaway package allows a business the option to customize a vehicle to their business needs with the power of Chevy to help. The customizable cutaway models in the rear end as a service vehicle, ambulance/rescue vehicle or bus configurations. The cutaway package is in three wheelbase lengths that match the perfect use of the end vehicle. The cutaway features the same great connectivity features of the cargo and passenger vans and adds a rear vision camera to boot.

Strong Power Through the City

2018 Chevy ExpressThe 2018 lineup of Chevy Express vans come available in four different engine options. The base motor is a 4.3-liter V6 engine that puts out 276 horsepower with 298 lb.-ft. of torque. The next available motor is a 6.0-liter V8 that puts out 341 horsepower and 373 lb.-ft. Or torque. This engine can run on gas, liquefied natural gas or compressed natural gas. Finally, a 2.8-liter Duramax Turbo-Diesel is available in an inline 4-cylinder configuration. This motor puts out 181 horsepower and 369 lb.-ft. of torque.

Innovative Safety Features

2018 Chevy Express RearWhen operating a large van like the Chevy Express, safety is essential, and Chevy has added a lot of great safety features to the vehicle. An available side blind zone alert system warns drivers of detected vehicles in the blind spot via the side mirrors. The available safety package features rear park assist and heated folding exterior mirrors.
