What's New For The 2019 Chevy Traverse?

Since the Chevy Traverse originally hit the SUV market during the 2009 model year, this vehicle has been a big hit with consumers. It is known for its power, style and third-row of seating. The Traverse did not enter its second generation until the 2018 model year. Because so many improvements were made to last year's model, you will find only a couple of minor changes in the 2019 Traverse. For example, the 2019 model now offers an optional Roadside Assistance package for all five trims, and the Blackout Package is an option for the LT, LS and Premium trims this year. One other minor change is the replacement of Saddle Brown Metallic as an exterior color for the new Havana Brown Metallic hue. A great way to examine these updates in person is through a visit to the dealership for a test drive.

2019 Chevy Traverse Trims & Features

With five trim levels available for the 2019 Chevrolet Traverse, it is important to understand what each trim offers before you finalize your SUV-buying plans. Notably, the five trims available in the new model year are Premier, RS, LT, LS and L. Many of the features available at the base L trim carry forward to the higher trim levels. Some of the base trim features include a sound system, a color infotainment screen climate control, cruise control, power door locks and windows, bench seating in the second row and other features. By stepping up to the Premier trim at the highest end of the spectrum, your Traverse will come with optional Intellibeam lights, LED daytime running lights, fog lights, a heavy-duty cooling system for the engine, deep-tint glass, body-colored and powered side mirrors, a heating element for the front and rear seats, all-season 20-inch tires, a navigation system with a larger touchscreen display, wireless charging, bucket seats for the first two rows and numerous other features. To learn more about the features available for all five trims, make plans to stop by the dealership.

2019 Chevy Traverse Horsepower

2019 Chevy TraverseThe decision about which SUV to purchase may understandably be based at least partially on the power of the vehicle and its on-the-road performance capabilities. Most trims for 2019 are well-equipped with a 310-horsepower engine and an automatic transmission. This is a 3.6-liter, V6 engine, and it is paired with your choice of a front-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive drivetrain. If you prefer the RS trim level, your SUV will be loaded with a turbocharged four-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine. Be aware that there is a standard all-wheel drive option and a twin-clutch Twinster option. Regardless of the powertrain and drivetrain that you prefer to have in your SUV, you will find that your vehicle comes with anti-locking brakes, a 600-amp heavy-duty battery with cold-crank capabilities, an auto start-stop ignition, E10 fuel capabilities and a few other features.
