Corvette Racing to Go Global in 2022

Start your engines race car lovers! Chevy recently announced their upcoming role in the global racing circuit for 2022. Their Corvette C8.R will be entered in a number of races this coming year, starting with the United States IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship. After performing there, it will move on to the FIA World Endurance Championship. This takes place in various locations in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Rounding out the tour, the Corvette will be featured at Le Mans during July.

We're hoping for some wins, thanks to the expert drivers that will be behind the Corvette wheel during these runs. Expect factory drivers such as Nicky Catsburg, Jordan Taylor, Tommy Milner, Nick Tandy, Alexander Sims, and Antonio Garcia at the Spa-Francorchamps track located in Belgium, the Fuji Speedway in Japan, and also the Monza in Italy.

After this year, Chevy will focus their efforts on releasing a new Corvette race car in 2024. So far, we know that it's going to feature an aluminum chassis that's based on previously released Chevy models, as well as a peppy 5.5-liter V8 engine.
