The upcoming 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is set to become one of the fastest performance cars on the market. General Motors President Mark Reuss recently took the ZR1 for a test run on a track in Germany, reaching a mind-blowing top speed of 233 mph. No other production car under $1 million has achieved this speed level. During several runs, the new Corvette ZR1 consistently surpassed 230 mph, setting a new standard for American-made sports cars.
GM's Fastest Car Yet
Beneath the 2025 Corvette ZR1 hood is a 5.5-liter, twin-turbocharged flat-plane crank V8 engine, delivering an impressive 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft of torque. According to GM, the ZR1 is capable of completing the quarter-mile in less than 10 seconds. With a redline of 8,000 rpm, it promises an adrenaline-pumping drive. An eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission ensures smooth power delivery. A carbon fiber aero package adds 1,200 pounds of downforce, further improving the car's already stellar handling.
More Than Just Speed
Although the Corvette ZR1's performance is genuinely jaw-dropping, its appearance is just as breathtaking. It brings back the Corvette's signature split rear window, which also helps keep the engine cool. Several bold color options are available, including Competition Yellow Tintcoat Metallic and Torch Red. The ZR1's aggressive stance is complemented by 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels.
Inside, the driver-focused cockpit offers top-notch features, including a distinctive performance steering wheel. Optional enhancements include a 14-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system, Nappa leather upholstery, and a curb-view front camera.
