Chevrolet Reveals Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype at Daytona

Just ahead of the “legendary DAYTONA 500 race” this year, Chevrolet rolled out its Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype. Though it didn't hit the racetrack, the prototype previewed an electric race car's future possibilities. Check out the key highlights of the Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype below.

High-Performance Electric Powertrain

Instead of a V8, Chevrolet equipped the Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype with an all-electric setup. The three six-phase motors deliver around 1,300 horsepower and rev to 15,000 rpm.

A programmable all-wheel drive configuration ensures exact torque splits to each wheel. A modified Next Gen chassis underneath supports track-grade suspension and Goodyear Racing Eagle tires.

True Race Car Styling

The EV.R's aesthetic is rooted in the “road-going Chevrolet Blazer SS EV,” but its race enhancements stand out. A wide-body design paired with a tall rear wing creates exceptional downforce, while the extremely low stance aids cornering grip.

Motorsports Innovation

Chevrolet uses the EV.R NASCAR Prototype to trial new racing technologies that will advance both its motorsports programs and future road cars.
