The Corvette ZR1X and ZR1 are now the Fastest Cars from an American Manufacturer at Nürburgring Nordschleife Circuit

The iconic Chevrolet Corvette remains a dominant presence in the sports car world. Recent track testing indicates that the Corvette ZR1X and ZR1 now hold the title of the fastest cars made by an American manufacturer, reflecting Chevrolet's capability to compete on the global stage.

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

Even with a non-professional racecar driver at the wheel, the Corvette ZR1 clocked a 6:50.763 lap at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. A 5.5L powers this mid-engine supercar, twin-turbo flat-plane crank V8 engine rated at 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft of torque.

The new Corvette ZR1 offers explosive acceleration, a top speed of 233 mph, and exceptional handling. The available ZTK Performance Package helps extract the best lap times and includes several truck-focused upgrades, such as Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires and a dedicated aero kit. Despite its track-ready nature, the ZR1 is comfortable on everyday roads, featuring standard equipment such as a Bose premium sound system, a Rear Camera Mirror, and a high-resolution infotainment screen with Google Built-in.

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X

The Corvette ZR1X pushes performance even further. It utilizes the same engine but incorporates an electric front-drive unit to increase total output to 1,250 horsepower. The ZR1X achieved a 6:49.275 lap at the Nürburgring. Its sophisticated eAWD system constantly monitors tire conditions to deliver maximum grip.
