Although these two remarkable Corvette concept cars won't reach production, they offer an exhilarating glimpse of the future. The Corvette CX and the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo reflect Chevrolet's global design creativity and showcase the brand's performance DNA.
Corvette CX Concept
Conceived as a street-legal supercar, the Corvette CX sports an aggressive aesthetic. Its ultra-wide stance and flowing sculpted lines quickly draw the eye. The concept's standout feature is a fighter-jet-like canopy that automatically opens as you get near.
Under the skin is an AWD electric powertrain with four motors. Chevy states it delivers an astonishing 2,000 horsepower, providing blistering acceleration. The lithium-ion battery sits low in the chassis for better weight balance, and four-wheel torque vectoring improves handling precision. The car also uses a Vacuum Fan System that channels air through its open bodywork to increase downforce.
The interior of the Corvette CX is driver-focused, with premium materials such as forged carbon fiber throughout. A digital windscreen shows real-time performance data, and many controls are integrated into the racy steering wheel to minimize distractions.
Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo Concept
The CX.R Vision Gran Turismo is a track-focused car in Gran Turismo 7. Powered by a twin-turbo V8 producing 900 horsepower, this mid-engine racer redlines at 15,000 rpm. Three electric motors aid the powertrain, which produces a combined 2,000 horsepower, and renewable e-fuel provides sustainable performance.
Because it's intended for the track, the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo features a stripped-down cabin to save weight. Its heavily bolstered seats keep passengers secured through fast, tight corners.
