What's New For the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse?
The Chevrolet Traverse doesn't get significant changes for 2021, but it remains an impressive and popular vehicle among midsize three-row SUVs. The 2021 Traverse can be finished in more than a half-dozen paint colors. Chevrolet states that the Traverse is "ready for what's next," which is a fitting slogan considering all that the Traverse offers. The Traverse has a maximum tow rating of 5,000 pounds, which makes it a great choice for hauling your weekend toys around. The Traverse also has seating for up to eight people or seven with captain's chairs. The Traverse has some of the best passenger capacity in its class, and it has over 98 cubic feet of cargo storage space.
Which Trims & Features Are Available in 2021?
You'll find much to enjoy even at the base trim level of the Chevrolet Traverse. The first trim, called the L, is equipped with cloth upholstery and a bench-style back row seating layout to hold eight people. The seats also fold flat for convenience and to maximize storage space. A seven-inch infotainment display is included, along with smartphone pairing for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The L also includes Wi-Fi.
The second trim level is the LS. The LS gets the same basic features and technology as the L. It also has an optional all-wheel drive and a few extra optional packages, including more USB charging ports. The LT Cloth is the next trim in line. It gets some additional driver-assist safety aids and an enhanced infotainment system. The LT Leather has many of the same features as the LT Cloth, except that its seats are made of leather rather than cloth. The LT Leather has a top-down parking camera too, and it has unique 20-inch wheels.
The RS has some additional black exterior accents and a bowtie emblem. It gets a black ice grille and dark 20-inch aluminum wheels. The High Country has power-folding seats in the third row, perforated leather seats, and a dual-pane sunroof.

What's Under the Hood of the Chevy Traverse?
Like many of Chevrolet's signature models, the Traverse benefits from one engine: A 3.6L V6 engine rated at 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to variable valve timing and spark ignition direct injection, this is a Traverse that will indeed put some sparks into your daily drive. It's velvety smooth and efficient. The engine has many helpers all around the vehicle, including an excellent 9-speed automatic transmission that is the perfect partner to provide a spirited ride.
Safety Features in the Forefront for 2021
A backup camera is a standard safety feature on the 2021 Traverse, which helps you park and has dynamic gridlines to ensure confident reversing. Other safety features are available in a trim or through packages, including front pedestrian braking and forward collision alert.
